Exit Signs Technology

I went to a store recently. There I saw a number of Exit signs. All of them available in variety of styles, designs as well as colors. They were either simple with the word ‘EXIT’ written on an aluminium base or had a picture of man running towards an exit door drawn along with the text. I asked the shop owner about the various types of technology being used in these signs. He pointed to a number of them such as tritium, photoluminescent, LED, incandescent and even solar powered. I went on to ask him the most popular type as well as the expensive one. He told me that LED Exit signs were the most popular ones because of the fact that they are not only brighter but are easier to maintain and consumes less power. They are cheap as well. The most expensive were the tritium ones.
